App Permissions
Not authenticated or insufficient permissions
To work correctly, the app must be able to access SharePoint content in the context of the current user.
When you use the app for the first time, or if the app’s required permissions have changed, you will be prompted to configure access. Clicking the button will initiate the consent flow.
For detailed information about each required permission, please refer to our App Permission List .
In the configuration dialogs of the macros, a pop-up window will appear instead of an inline prompt. Due to technical limitations, if you cancel the permission flow, the dialog may appear blank. In such cases, please reload the page to continue.
Starting with version 2.0, newly configured SharePoint Online macros can display the configured document URL even if you are not logged in or lack the necessary permissions.
Unauthenticated users can initiate the consent flow by clicking “Login to SharePoint”, which will enable full functionality of the SharePoint Connector for Confluence macros once access is granted.
For older macros or when using the SharePoint Online List macro, you will still see the following notification.
Due to a technical limitation, it is currently not possible to easily switch to a different account. To do so, you must manually remove the app’s existing consent and then reauthorize it using the desired account.
Consent the app
When you start the consent flow, a dialog will display all delegated permissions that the app requires to work properly. You must grant these permissions to enable full functionality. For a detailed list of the permissions check App Permission List.
You are able to remove these permissions at any time!
If your current user account has administrator privileges, you will see an additional checkbox labeled “Consent on behalf of your organization”
Selecting this option grants the required permissions for all users within your organization, so individual users won’t need to authorize the app separately.
About customized company policies
Our app uses delegated Microsoft Graph API scopes that normally do not require admin consent and can be approved by users individually.
However, some companies enforce stricter Microsoft Entra ID policies that restrict user consent for certain scopes. In such cases, users may see a “Request approval” option instead of being able to grant consent directly.
If this happens, a Global Administrator has two options:
Complete the consent flow directly in the app and select “Consent on behalf of your organization” during the login process.
Approve requests from individual users via Microsoft Entra ID Admin Center → Enterprise Applications → Consent and Permissions → Admin Consent Requests
Please contact your Microsoft Entra ID administrator if you are unsure whether your organization allows user consent for third-party apps.
Remove app consent
If you want to remove the app permissions for your current user you can follow these steps:
Navigate to My Apps using a browser of your choice
Search in the list of Atlassian third party account access apps for an entry with the headline Microsoft and your personal account information
Remove the app consent via the Revoke button
